BEGINNINGS
In 1987, The Utah Davis County Commission for the Celebration of the Bicentennial of the Constitution of the United States of America called for ideas that would be enjoyed for the wonderful occasion.

One famous project on the calendar was a Constitution Quiz Bowl, in three parts for the people of Davis County. The people reviewed and knew the Constitution better. Quiz Bowls were held in nine of the fifteen cities. There were three different events each held in different cities, in court halls, churches, parks, public schools, etc.

Participants from every city worked together: as teams, several families, neighbors, mayors and council members, school children, lawyers and of many vocations in assorted combinations. They studied prepared pamphlets, Q & A on the Causes for Conflict, Prevailing Circumstances, War and the Declaration of Independence; the Constitutional Convention; the Constitution; the Ratification and The Bill of Rights. Over 800 people participated in the events. When the Bicentennial celebration ended, a final Bowl demonstration was held in the county-sponsored culmination of the Davis County Commission Celebration, AT VALLEY MUSIC HALL, highly lauded and appreciated. Much thanks is due participants.

Lawyers, Rotary and Lion's Club representatives on the Bowl requested the Constitution Quiz Bowl be put in the schools of Utah. So it was, with awards and certificates, the Constitution Quiz Bowl was introduced to the schools of Utah.

Subsequent to the Davis celebration the pamphlets were included in a manual called American Constitution Made Easy. A banner American Constitution STARS and accompanying Logo was included in the Preface of that booklet, 1990, and the whole used activities for Constitution Bowls in Utah, to the present date. The business name is now ACME Learning Products.

The Valley Forge Freedoms Foundation invited the Utah Chapter to demonstrate a Constitution Bowl at Valley Forge, in 1990. This was done. The Freedoms Foundation of Valley Forge gave to Reva Wadsworth, Founder of the American Constitution STARS, the George Washington Honor Medal for Excellence, in 1996.

The first school bowl competition was held in Davis County, 1991, and the occasion celebrated the heroes of Desert Storm. Bowls have been held every year since 1991, schools participating in the north, the central and the south end of the state of Utah.

We welcome you to the American Constitution Stars Quiz Bowl under the auspices of Reva Wadsworth. Join with your team and celebrate our nation's greatest assets, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America, on April 27, in Orem, Utah, on April 29, in Cedar City, Utah, and on April 30 Bountiful, Utah. Please plan to attend in your geographical area.
